iPhone 3.0

June 18, 2009

Finally, 3 out of 4 (or 3.5 out of 4).

1. Cut, Copy, Paste – check

2. MMS – check (at least T-Mobile Macedonia). And I want to add, very very very very easy configuration. Or should I say, no configuration, it just works.

3. SMS – check

4. Bluetooth – partial. Still can’t send and receive files with Bluetooth. At least I can use my iPhone’s 3G whenever I need internet and no WiFi connection.

BUT,

1. Keyboard

I have noticed that Macedonian Keyboard is added (as well as several others). However, after selecting Macedonian keyboard in SMS or Notes or Email or … everywhere, nothing happened. There is no Cyrillic letters. On the space bar briefly is displayed македонски (which is local translation for macedonian language). Layout is still English.

So, this is a Bug in 3.0. Hope that 3.0.1 will solve this issue.

2. Digital Compass

I was really disappointed with the fact that Digital Compass is available ONLY on iPhone 3G S. :(

iPhone 2.1 What’s missing

September 14, 2008

iPhone 2.1 is here (2.0 for some time) and still some “essential” features are not in. I guess everybody will make their own wish list but this is something I can’t find reason why is not implemented.

1. Cut, Copy, Paste

I can’t remember since when Nokia had this in their models. For God sake, iPhone is build on OSX (UNIX) and Clipboard is something that is around us for decades. Perhaps developers in Apple can’t make it because they can’t find “User Friendly Way”!

2. MMS

Another nonsense. 3G Phone with BEST Web Browser, rich Email and no MMS. That’s not so hard. Realy.

3. SMS

SMS (Text Messaging) is build in from start. But how? You can’t forward your message, you can’t send to someone if is not in your Address Book. That is REALY easy to do.

4. Bluetooth

Again no “reasonable” explanation why Bluetooth is crippled. Top-of-the-class phone with GSM/GPRS/EDGE/3G/WiFi/GPS and no Bluetooth!!!!!

Sometimes people will value thing’s that are not there more than thing’s that are there. Multi Touch Screen, Screen Quality, Internet Connectivity are best in class. Enterprise features now in 2.0 are competitive with RIM’s.

I just hope that next version will fix some if not all those “easy” features.
